Deviated septum repair (or septoplasty)
The septum is the wall of cartilage and bone that separates the nostrils. If the septum is crooked, then this deviation could cause snoring or sleep apnea. Septoplasty, or deviated septum repair, can be performed to straighten the septum. This surgical procedure may correct snoring problems or sleep apnea. A septoplasty may also be used to remove nasal polyps or correct other nasal cavity issues, such as chronic nose bleeds.
Endoscopic sinus surgery
Endoscopic sinus surgery can effectively resolve sinusitis, a deviated septum, nasal polyps, and/or tumors. The procedure uses an endoscope; which is like a small telescope, to peer inside the nasal cavities to find blockages. These blockages can be removed using other tools without ever having to cut through the skin.
Polyp removal
Nasal polyps may form from excessive mucus blockages or form during the end stages of many sinus diseases. Polyp removal can be performed during endoscopic sinus surgery or septoplasty.
Sinusitis
Sinusitis is any inflammation or irritation of the nasal cavities. Sinusitis can form during a cold in which the nasal cavity has increased mucus flow, or in cases of constant allergy attacks. If examined and properly cared for early on, sinusitis may be cured with decongestants and other sinus relief treatments. However, prolonged sinusitis may result in nasal polyps.
Balloon Sinuplasty
Balloon Sinuplasty™ technology is a FDA-cleared, endoscopic, catheter-based system for patients suffering from sinusitis. The technology uses a small, flexible, Sinus Balloon Catheter to open up blocked sinus passageways, restoring normal sinus drainage and function. When the sinus balloon is inflated, it gently restructures and widens the walls of the passageway while maintaining the integrity of the sinus lining. Nasal Obstruction
Nasal obstructions are any blockages that occur in the nasal cavity. This can be a deviated septum that does not allow air and mucus to flow properly or a nasal polyp that has formed or any kind of constant nasal congestion from colds or allergies. There are many methods to deal with nasal obstructions. Endoscopic sinus surgery may resolve the obstruction. Some physicians may recommend somnoplasty.
